Art Objects
It began with a nest filled with small things. A clattering of found objects, a magpie’s assortment of cast-offs. As a child, I stole my privilege and pillaged my treasure from things deemed useless. I found gold in the discarded — a bit of broken glass, a dirty plastic charm — and relished disappearance. SH… SH… there goes the hissing of bulbs burning out, dying balloons, daylight spilling from a window into an abandoned room once called a parlor, a slow hand against the mouth… glances down the hall.

Over fifty years of collecting objects, exploring nuance, gathering scraps, making art, crafting crafts, finding hidden insights, and searching for the secret at the heart of all things. This 'shop' is an estate sale — a long, slow deaccessioning of talismanic items related to ritual and creative self-inquiry. A peculiar estate sale made all the more peculiar by the sanctifying of objects before they leave the various shelves and boxes they have occupied. Each object is layered with a mark, a number, and text. Words, matter, insights, and teachings are woven together, each informing, expanding, and enhancing the other — everything mingling in the interstitial ether, all aspects of an amorphous whole. A grand art object continuously dispersing — one piece at a time.
